Rosalia Vila, also known as Rosalia, is the Spanish singer from flamenco. When she was a teenager she was involved in both the traditional and popular music. But, her musical interests have expanded to encompass soul and hip-hop. Pepe Haichuela, a flamenco guitar and famous musician has described the voice of the young singer as sharp with sweetness but with bite. Her debut album Los Angeles garnered attention from the U.S. public and earned the singer a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist the follow-up album for 2018 El Mal Querer was a significant commercial and critical success topping the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart and eventually winning an Grammy. La Fama, featuring The Weeknd is due out in 2021. Motomami, her third album, featured songwriting collaborations between Cory Henry and James Blake. The set was released following Saturday Night Live's show Chicken Teriyaki. Rosalia has become the only Spanish artist to have performed alone on the popular program. The Rosalia of Motomami, who took home The Latin Album of the Year as well as three Latin Grammy Awards in total for Motomami was also the first woman in history to be awarded this award.
